Note: As these are antique items, please be aware that they may have scratches, cracks, or chips.
Era: 2500 BCE to 1800 BCE
Originating from the Indus Valley Civilization, these carnelian beads are decorated with patterns using a liquid called natron, derived from plants, and then baked at a low temperature of around 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. While they have been unearthed in ruins in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, it is believed that these beads were made in the Indus River region and transported via land and sea routes.
