Product Description: This is a strand of etched carnelian beads.
Note: As this is an antique item, it may have scratches, cracks, or chips.
Era: 2500 BCE to 1800 BCE
Originating from the Indus Valley Civilization, these carnelian beads feature patterns created using natron liquid derived from plants, which were then fired at low temperatures of around 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. While they have also been excavated from sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, it's believed that these beads were manufactured in the Indus Valley and transported overland and by sea.
