Zelinka-Matlick was one of the great suit and coat houses located on Seventh Avenue, New York, in the mid-20th century. This heavyweight black wool coat is an excellent example from the late 1950s-early 1960s. The fabric is from Anglo Fabrics, one of the most prestigious wool fabric houses in U. S. until they closed in the 1990s. This classic overcoat has a double-breasted design that closes with four black buttons, and it has two besom pockets. The wool fabric is woven in a subtle herringbone pattern. The color is a deeper back than in the photos, which we lightened a little bit to better show details. The black lining might be a synthetic of some kind, but it is more likely silk. The fabric is flawless, and with proper care, should last another 60 years. No size label is present, so we are recommending it for size S/M (4-8). Please refer to the measurements for additional guidance regarding size. The measurements were taken on the outside of the coat.
