Issued by the Belgian Armed Forces (ABL) during the Cold War era, these bayonet frogs were designed for use with the FN49, FAL, M1924, and No.4 Mk.II bayonets — and likely others. Each frog tells a layered story of post-war European military history.
Following World War II, England donated and sold large quantities of wartime surplus to Belgium and other Allied nations. As weapons evolved and new bayonets were adopted, the ABL repurposed older webbing items rather than discard them. Many of these frogs were reconstructed from British or earlier Belgian 1937 Pattern frogs, resulting in pieces with mixed webbing in shades of blue, gray, khaki, or green. Few are identical — making each one a genuinely unique artifact.
They come in various shades of blue/gray and many have been Blancoed or painted at some point during their service life.
Available individually or in discounted 3-packs and 10-packs. Bayonet not included or available for sale.
