Product Description: This is a strand of Chevron Beads.
Note: As an antique item, it may have scratches, cracks, or chips.
Chevron beads are a unique type of Venetian bead technique invented by Maria Barovier on the Italian island of Murano in the late 1400s. While most Venetian bead techniques are adapted from ancient practices, the Chevron technique is original to Venice. Beads with up to 10 layers have been discovered, typically featuring blue hues, though red, green, and black variants are rarer. The name "Chevron" refers to the bead's distinctive mountain-like pattern, and they are also known as "Star Beads" or "Rosetta Beads." Later, Chevron beads began to be produced in the Netherlands as well.
