Originating from the Indus Valley Civilization, these carnelian beads feature patterns etched using natron derived from plants and then fired at low temperatures of around 300-400 degrees Celsius. Although similar beads have been unearthed in Mesopotamian and Afghan archaeological sites, it is believed that these were created in the Indus River basin and transported via land and sea routes.
