The R-700 first stage uses a Dry Ambient Pressure Chamber to prevent water contact with the diaphragm and spring, helping maintain steady breathing at depth in cold water.

Designed for cold-water environments, the R-700 features a ribbed top cap section that acts like a radiator to increase heat transfer. This design helps warm the critical internal parts that can freeze due to gas pressure drops and low temperatures during dives.

The system accommodates versatile air delivery with multiple ports. Two high-flow low-pressure ports are complemented by two standard LP ports and two HP ports, positioned near the diaphragm to offer up to a 15% increase in air flow for easier breathing during demanding dives.

The S-90 second stage is pneumatically balanced, reducing inhalation resistance and providing smooth breathing under varying conditions. A built-in Venturi adjustment lever offers two positions: Surface or minimum for entry on the surface to minimize free flow, and Dive or maximum for heightened airflow during the dive.
