1940s Carved Wooden Platform Shoes Tiki Village Size 6
A souvenir for the ladies that American soldiers would bring back when fighting on the Pacific front, these are wooden platform slides with silk amps in tones of orange and ivory and with a striking, carved heel design depicting a tiki style village.
There are two interesting details to say about these:
1. It's not easy to delineate left from right and from my understanding of antique shoes from Asia, that is often the case
2. The bottom of what I am going to surmise is the left shoe has a sticker tag at the bottom that says: 3rd ESB Battalion Don Muelle(r) !
Condition is good other than there is a bit of dirt to the fabric part but only if you peer closely. Not noticeable when worn.
Length at the exterior 8 1/4"
Width across the toes 3"
Platform height 3"
