Original antique lithographs by the engravers E.B and E.C Kellogg, done in 1844. Lithographs are based off the life portraits created by William H. Brown, the famed portraitist who created scissor cuts of his subjects.
John Marshall was a statesman, jurist, and Founding Father who served as the fourth chief justice of the United States from 1801 until his death in 1835.
