The 187th Airborne Infantry Regiment — the Rakkasans — is one of the most storied airborne units in U.S. military history. From the frozen ridgelines of Korea to the Euphrates River Valley during Operation Desert Storm, the Rakkasans have answered every call with valor.

In February 1991, two battalions of the 187th executed the deepest and largest air assault operation in history — striking 155 miles behind enemy lines to deliver a decisive blow that helped end the Gulf War. Their motto says it all: Ne Desit Virtus — Let Valor Not Fail.
