Kurzfassung: The aerospace industry contributes significantly to a continuous development of advanced manufacturing technologies. Besides the demand for economic manufacturing, reduction of fuel consumption while increasing the range at the same time is pursued. This requires a high level of productivity and maximum quality. To achieve these goals, a continuous technological development within the industry is necessary.
The 5th Machining Innovations Conference “New Production Technologies in Aerospace Industry” in 2014 is presented from the Institute of Production Engineering and Machine Tools in cooperation with the Machining Innovations Network e.V. and takes place at the Hannover Centre for Production Technology (PZH, Garbsen, Germany). Renowned experts from industry and research will present the latest trends, newest know-how and research results in 37 speeches. This year’s scientific session is sponsored by The International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP) and is presented in cooperation with the CRC871 project “Regeneration of Complex Capital Goods”. The contributions to the scientific session are also published in “Procedia CIRP” by Elsevier.
