By Mexican design brand Caralarga.
Introducing a new addition to our Caralarga Mini collection: Tonatiuh, a design inspired by the symbolic embodiment of the Toltec deity of the Sun of Movement. In Nahuatl, Tonatiuh means "he who warms or illuminates."
The cotton loom features a symmetrical division into quadrants by a cross, portraying the representation of Tonatiuh. From its center, four diagonal rays of light, created with tassels and ties, emerge—symbolizing the sun's journey across the sky from east to west. The lower section of the "canvas" concludes with a series of trimmed strands of varying lengths, adding a unique touch to this artistic creation.
All Caralarga pieces are made in the historic "Hércules" yarn and textile factory from 1846 in Querétaro, Mexico. With every purchase, you directly contribute to developing artisan communities in Mexico. Please note that each Caralarga piece is handmade with artisan techniques. Length and small details may vary among same models.
