A very crisp, reading copy of Benson's classic, containing the biography, diary entries, letters, notes of sermons, and dissertations of Bernard Gilpin (1803-1871).
The son of an Anglican divine at Pulverbatch, he became a dissenter and subsequently minister of the nonconformist "Port Vale Chapel" there. Excellent accounts of local revivals during the late 1820's and into the 1830's.
