Originating from the 1990s, this solitaire is set with an oval-shaped natural precious opal with a gentle play-of-colour. Play-of-colour is the unique optical effect only seen in opal - irregular patches of iridescent colours that move across the as it is turned under light. It is caused by minute silica spheres which diffract and subsequently interfere coloured lightwaves and is best seen in cabochon cut stones. This opal has an white attractive play-of-colour.
