A Mount Everest necklace in sterling silver, made on the Isle of Arran by Jess MacDonald Brass.
I trekked to Everest base camp in the 1990s. The famous view isn't from base camp- you climb Kala Patthar above Gorak Shep for that. This is what you see from up there.
Solid sterling silver, hand-carved in wax and cast- Everest at the centre, Nuptse shouldering forward on the left, Lhotse's ridge just catching the right edge, and the Khumbu Icefall broken below them. The topography as it actually is.
For the people who stood there. For the people who are going. For the
people who close their eyes and still see it.
8,848m. The highest point on earth.
Hand-carved and cast..
Dimensions: 25mm at the widest point x 23mm at the highest point
Chain: 18 inch
Material: sterling silver
My jewellery is individually hand-crafted or made in small batch production which is hand-finished - this is reflected in the final finish of each piece. This means that it will not be the same as machine made or mass-produced jewellery. Instead, it gives each of my designs a special artisanal touch.
