Description:

Masahiko Okura is a Tokyo-based reed player, improviser, and composer who plays clarinet and alto saxophone. He is also active in Active Recovering Music, a solo project that is distinct from his performances as a reed player. He is also a member of the experimental music ensemble Suidobashi Chamber Ensemble, and released his solo album "Time Service" on the Improvised Music from Japan label in 2004. His unique performances on alto saxophone, bass clarinet, and tuba attracted attention both in Japan and abroad. Since then, however, there has mysteriously been no solo album release, but in 2019, Okura will release a cassette tape of solo clarinet /contrabass clarinet performances on his own label, No Schools Recordings. In 2022, this album marks his first solo CD release in 18 years. Enjoy the unique musicality that only Okura can create! (C)RS
