The Beach Cambuca (Myrciaria strigipes) is an exceedingly rare Jaboticaba relative.  The Yellow Jaboticaba (Myrciaria glazioviana) would be its closest notable relative.  Beach cambuca is a gorgeous plant, with glossy, pointed leaves and an almost “weeping” crown- or fountain-like shape.  The flowers and fruit, when in season, form all over the leaf stems.  The fruit is similar to the Yellow Jaboticaba, though it has a slightly better seed-to-flesh ratio.  The leaves have a slightly fuzzy texture, like the Yellow Jaboticaba.

As with any Jaboticaba, the Beach Cambuca can grow well in full sun, but will be most at home in a dappled light or partial shade area.
