Description:
The most powerful and charismatic jazz legend of all time, John Coltrane, has unearthed a live recording of his classic album, "The Greatest Love"! A new page in music history! John Coltrane, the eternally charismatic John Coltrane, performed his masterpiece, "The Greatest Love," only a few times in public. The existence of a recording of this performance in Seattle has been unknown until now. This performance was recorded at The Penthouse in Seattle on October 2, 1965. A recording from the same location has already been released under the name "Live in Seattle," but it is not known that other dates were also recorded, making this discovery extremely valuable. This live recording includes the entirety of "Love Above All," and in addition to the golden quartet of McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison, and Elvin Jones, who recorded the studio version in December 1964, a total of seven members, including Pharaoh Sanders, took the stage. So far, "Supreme Love" has been released in one original studio version and one live version, but this album is a more adventurous and avant-garde performance than those two.
