Sigur Rós frontman Yoncy Bergisson and his partner Alex Sommers, who have been engaged in art activities such as art exhibitions and shows under the name "Riceboy Sleeps" since around 2003, released a music collaboration work in July 2009. The album "RICEBOY SLEEPS" was released in July 2009. It has been 10 years since the release of the instrumental album, which presents an ambient sound space woven by delicate acoustic sounds, revealing a world of sheer beauty. The album is being reissued as an analog record featuring the latest remastered sound sources from analog masters supervised by the artist himself. This reissue of "RICEBOY SLEEPS" will be a 3-CD analog set that includes the original album and a 30-minute EP, "ALL ANIMALS". The "ALL ANIMALS" EP was originally included as a bonus track on the limited CD edition of the original album.It was subsequently released as a limited edition at Sigur Ros' Nordur og nidur festival in Reykjavik, Iceland in 2017, as well as at Record Store Day in 2018, but this is the first time it has been released in a non-limited edition. three-disc set. The album will be released on black vinyl in a gatefold jacket with rounded corners. The delicate and haunting instrumentals provided by Yonsey and Alex are visual, fantastical, and somewhat austere soundscapes, with significant use of acoustics. In addition to Yonsey and Alex, the album also features the string quartet Amina and the Korpavogsdoter Choir. To coincide with the 10th anniversary of the album's release, Yonsey and Alex have announced a concert tour of "RICEBOY SLEEPS," with an orchestra, throughout Europe and North America this summer and fall. The orchestra will be conducted by Robert Ames. This will be the first time that the entire "RICEBOY SLEEPS" album will be performed live.(Incidentally, the band has not performed live since 2010, when they played six songs at St. Paul The Apostle Church in Manhattan, New York. This is a beautiful reissue of an out-of-this-world side project.
