【Jazz Signature: Freeman Lok Trio】

Freeman Lok 自五歲起習琴，早期扎根於古典音樂，並於多個鋼琴賽事中屢獲殊榮。隨後，他赴英國劍橋大學深造，並於 2022 年以優異成績畢業。留英期間，Freeman 對爵士樂產生了濃厚興趣，並曾參與多場備受矚目的演出，包括為當時的威爾斯親王（現任英國國王查爾斯三世）表演。回港後，他迅速成為本地最活躍的年輕爵士鋼琴手之一，亦跨足流行樂界擔任演唱會琴手。

本次演出，Freeman 將聯同低音大提琴手 Scott Dodd 及鼓手 Tim Ng 組成鋼琴三重奏。音樂會以「融合」為核心，結合古典與當代爵士的思維路徑。曲目將包括其原創作品，以及重新編排的爵士標準曲與流行歌曲。改編手法上，他深受當代爵士大師 Brad Mehldau 那種具歌唱性、如詩般的語言啟發，將大眾熟悉的流行旋律進行結構性的重組；同時，觀眾亦能聽見他如何將古典對位技巧（Counterpoint）巧妙地運用在三重奏的即興對話中，建構出獨特的當代美學。

Freeman Lok established a strong classical foundation from age five, winning numerous competitions before graduating with honors from the University of Cambridge in 2022. During his time in the UK, he performed for high-profile figures, including King Charles III. Since returning to Hong Kong, he has become a mainstay of the local scene, balancing jazz performance with work as a pop session keyboardist.

For this performance, Freeman leads a trio with bassist Scott Dodd and drummer Tim Ng. Centered on "Fusion," the set bridges classical structure with contemporary jazz, featuring originals and rearranged standards. Inspired by the lyrical, poetic language of Brad Mehldau, Freeman performs structural reinterpretations of familiar pop melodies while weaving classical counterpoint into the trio’s improvisational dialogue.
