The front is a patchwork of block-printed handloom in white and off-white tones; the reverse is plain handloom kora. With only two layers and no batting, it stays light and folds without effort. A wide quilted border runs the full perimeter, giving the piece its final form. It can be a quilt on a bed, a throw over a sofa, a blanket for a day outside, or whatever fits where you need it.

Note: This kowdhi uses 950 grams of surplus handloom fabric that would otherwise have gone to a landfill and reflects close to 75 hours of work by women quilters. It washes easily at home in cold water with a mild detergent and dries best in shade. A gentle machine wash works just as well. Minor marks from handling or storage wash off easily in the first wash, without any fuss.
