I used to have one of these jackets .... but sold it to a customer looking for a broken in jacket at a show when we first started Tinker and Fix!

This is the latest version of Carhartts Detroit jacket (updated for 2024), and they've been making this style for years.  For this version they've softened up the Duck canvas a little from the factory as if you've had one of their previous versions the "breaking in" period wasn't quick.

What you have is a rugged workwear jacket.  It's cut shorter at the front than most fashion jackets.  This means you don't get a lot of fabric bunching up when you bend forward.  The back is slightly longer but still works when wearing a tool belt.

The body is lined with a striped fabric, and the arms with a smooth nylon.  This is not the lined version of this jacket and this gives it a little more versitilty for wearing in the UK.  I used to find the lined version was really warm, even on a cold winters day.

• Left chest pocket with zipper closure
• Two lower front welt pockets with brushed tricot lining
• Two interior pockets, one pocket with zipper closure and one with hook-and-loop closure
• Full-length front zipper with interior storm flap
• Snap adjustable cuffs
• Drop tail hem with adjustable snap side tabs
• Triple stitched main seams

Sizing is on the relaxed American workwear size, but not excessive.

Small. -  34/36" chest

Medium  -  38/40" chest

Large  -  42/44 chest

XL - 46/48 chest.
