The play A Story of Waterloo was a formidable success, and so was his forthcoming US lecture tour. Conan Doyle's versatility became increasingly evident. He had now started his journey to become not just a great writer, but one of the world's most famous persons. A Story of Waterloo is one of Conan Doyle's least known major successes. To fully explain its importance, Clifford S. Goldfarb has written an introduction to the volume, and the script of the one-act play is included.
