Description:
Nippon no Yo-Gaku Series] Two albums by an Australian electric band that gained popularity in Japan and tried their hand at popular songs are coupled! Their first album in Japan was probably "This is Rock" released on King Records' Seven Seas label in 1964. (a compilation based on the '63 festival album "Classics Of Rock"). The band was introduced as a vocalist + rock combo, or to put it more crudely, a rockabilly type of artist. In May 1965, Col. Joey and his party came to Japan and released "This is Electric Beat" (a compilation based on the song "Tears on the Train"), which covered "Murder on Tenth Avenue," "Diamond Head," and "Tears on the Train" ("This is Electric Beat! (under the name "Col. Joey and his group"), and "Electric Guitar in Tokyo," which targeted (expanded?) fans of Japanese popular songs. On his return to Japan in 1966, he recorded "Young Japanese Hits," again featuring Japanese songs. This CD contains "Young Japanese Hits" as the main track and "Electric Guitar in Tokyo" as a bonus track. ~Commentary: Kazunori Harada
