Library stamps in lower right corner, otherwise, clean. Bright and in very good condition.

The adjacent mainland of the Peloponnisos peninsula and the remote islets of Velopotila and Falkonera are covered. The map area is 95% blank as sea.

These sheets are from the first official geological series of Greece, published by the Geological Service of Greece (then part of the Ministry of National Economy) during the late 1910s and 1920s. They represent a critical transition where Alfred Philippson’s German research was officially “Hellenised” and expanded for Greek national use. They are quarter sheets of the four folding geological maps of the same scale published by Alfred Phillipson (1864-1953) in Beiträge zur Kenntnis der Griechischen Inselwelt, [Contributions to the knowledge of the Greek islands] Gotha, 1901.

The coordinates used appear to be based on a prime meridian passing through Athens.
